WELL IF I CAN'T FIND SILVER,, I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO SETTLE FOR GOLD
My motorcycle is in the shop so I had to take a train to get to a park that has been good to me. I tried a few spots that were always the silver spots in this park. One is around and under some huge old trees. I'm sure there were picnics back in the day when everyone carried silver coins in their pockets, The other area that I have done well at finding Silver is at the tree line,, where the 8 lawn meets the brush and forested part of the park. Well the Silver drought continued today but thank goodness I'm not too proud to dig a good nickel signal.
I got a 13-14 on the E-Trac. 13-13 is usually a good solid nickel signal but 13-14 is close enough. Dug out a shallow plug but the target was still in the hole. Scooped out a clumped of moist soil from the side of the hole and I saw yellow. Sure enough,, after pushing the dirt out of the center of the ring, there was no mistaking this for anything but gold. At first I thought it said Marie. I slipped it into my coin pocket and waited until I got home to really examine it.
Sure enough. A little water and a toothbrush made the word MADRE a lot clearer. A 14kt yellow gold ring weighing in at 5gr.
If I can't find Silver, I guess I'll just have to settle for gold,, lol
