Went looking for colonial, ended up with CW (Dragoons button etc!)

Two fellow club hunters and Tnetters and I headed to the site I found an 1817 large cent and some other cool stuff at in the early spring right as it was planted. I had been waiting for this farm field permission to be cut all summer. We had quite a day and turned up artifacts from mid 1700s onward. The site has a nice concentration of coins, buttons and Minnie balls from the Civil war period. My fellow Tnetters both left with some form of silver and we all got many many buttons. Heres the best of mine for your viewing pleasure. Sorry the pics aren't stellar. Smokey ID'd the button with the star as a St. Timothy's Hall so it is generally considered Confederate. The Dragoons button really deserves it's own pic it still has some guilding to it! I got several almosts as the buttons and coins are damaged and fertilized. We turned up several gold guilded buttons that got each digger excited upon seeing that golden round edge in the hole. I am going to find that gold coin soon lol!
Pic 1 is the LC from the spring. Its immaculate now that it's cleaned.
Pics 2-3 are the almosts. Damaged buttons pic 3 is the St Timothy Hall button
pic 4 is the better stuff, Injuns and a 1850 LC with minor head wound.
pic 5 is the mystery item. I want to say its old and fancy. Please ID if you can. It does have a hole in it where a screw or pin went through. Thx for looking and post more stuff so I can be less bored at work lol

What I find amazing is you can find an eagle button looking almost like it was put down yesterday and twenty feet away, you can find one that looks like an alligator took a chomp out of it. Never fails to amaze me.

Looks like you have a great site there. I know what you mean when you describe the waiting period on having a field be cut.... It's like the night before Christmas when you were a kid. Hope there's a bunch more there for you to find. Best of luck.
