Went out for a couple hours and got a barbecued Barber.

I noticed they finally cut the soybeans on a field I detected a couple years ago, so I figured I'd hit it again. The first thing I dug was a plated ring it was a screamer. The last thing was the quarter, when I first popped it out I wasn't sure what it was and of course I didn't have my glasses but I could see the edge and new it was a quarter. Also got another heel plate that's my second in a week.

Wow that barber looks like the pennies I find that have been soaked in fertilizer for years. Really cool and its silver. Nice bunch of finds

Agree with A2, looks like chemical reaction from fertilizer. Great to still get a date. Nice find!

I'm guessing that was in a fire, look really cool with that date poking out. I had a farmer tell me how he remembered his grandfather burning down the old house then days later picking through everything for nails and anything they could re purpose. They now farm that area where the house used to be.

Great finds! LUV finding rings, no matter what they're made of, beautiful heel plate...there's been a couple of those "come hither" designed heel plates posted lately. I dug a '48 Washington that's blistered like yours, and always wondered if it was due to fertilizer or excess heat (found in farm field). Congrats on the great finds, looks like a great day...Ddf.
