My family went to checkout a 1880 ghost town ,here in Colorado, we had a great time. But since the group tagged along it limited my digging time.the only thing left were the foundations,a store, houses, the mine bosses
house & several mines...coal i think ,gotta do more reasearch.found what i think is a rosette or buckle
its a floral design & plated gold, a flat type button & a harmonica reed.plan on a return trip just to dig.

first the finds & the pics

enjoy, i did

Nice site,

Gotta be more out there. The rossette is very nice and looks pre 1900.

Yeah, I wouldn't think that those are coal mines either.

Very nice find congrats

I sure hope that is mud on the back of your pants ::)

I thought the fact that your backside looked like that was because you'd just found a $20 gold piece! ;D

Really cool pictures! I like the way that tunnel entrance is built.

There is a couple of gold/silver mines in Nevada that have their tunnels built the exact same way - how did you know they were coal mines?

all the research i've done says there were coal mines & a rail road ran to the town.

IS THAT SNOW ON THE GROUND. THAT WOULD BE THE ONLY WAY I WOULD GO INTO A MIND. SNAKES. LIKE THE FINDS. BEST OF LUCK.
