Went to School Today and got PAID!

Hello Everyone,

I have been eyeing this playground and ball field for quite some time. Today was the day for a visit with the detector. Worked the play area, but only found a few coins and no trash. Obviously it’s been hunted before. :BangHead:

So I decided to work a grid pattern - grass strip area (200’ x 5’) around the play area and basketball court. Bingo! It appears the detectorist(s) before me only liked the wood chip area (easier to recover items I guess), but left the coins and hopefully some silver/gold jewelry for me! There appears to be coins in great abundance to be found, so I hope to get back in the near future to continue the coin vacuuming process by expanding the grid pattern 3-feet at a time.

The take for the day was $ 7.08 dollars, 1942 wheat cent and odds & ends. Not bad for two hours of fun!

Very nice bunch of coins and odds and ends.

I have a question though. If you sort your odds and ends and have one left over. Is it an odd or an end?

cherry picker diggers always miss the good stuff while they snipe qtrs & dimes. bet ya' get some deep silver while lazy boy grabs the shallow hits___________classic case of turtle vs. hare :laughing7:

Nice haul!! I was the lazy guy digging the shallow hits down this way today. Lol Hit a school for a little this evening and only plucked the shallow 86-87 hits just below the surface.

That's a good sign and payday. I've come to love those courts. Maybe they are too trashy for some people? Especially if they didn't switch to a sniper.

At the court I detected two weeks ago, there were poorly dug holes all over. Karma took charge because I still pulled five rings (two were junk) and a military hat badge he/she missed.

Hello Tradertom,

I use the Garrett sniper and Sunray 5" coil, both are deadly around play ground and farm cut rows of corn areas.

Well done Doc, sometimes one just needs a good clad fix. Congrats on another fun day pulling targets. I hit a football field in a nearby town yesterday. I hunted for about 2.5 hours and pulled $16.28.
