I always forget to take the camera. It is empty and had freshly mowed grass. Spent 3 1/2 hours there and decided it has been searched before. I got 4 memorial cents, 1 clad dime 6 wheaties ( 09, 26, 40, 40, 44, and 62-D) and a nice 1904 IH.
For the first time, I soaked the older two in mineral oil instead of olive oil. (an overnight soak) This was an option mentioned in a "Coin World" article I read a few months ago. It seems to work pretty decent with the help of a medium bristle tooth brush - I know, a risk for scratches.
Also found a brass? photo locket? not pictured. It was just a little frame with no lid. The photo in it was history.

Nice finds HF! Sometime post "before & after" pics of some coins you cleaned, I'd like to see the difference it made. I'll agree with the others, those pennies look great.

I'd love to see a before and after next time as well--it could be wheats if you like. Doesn't have to be Injuns.

You have to put up with the clerk at the drug store thinking you are constipated if you buy the mineral oil! ;-)

The Indian head cent looked from the beginning like it was going to clean up nicely. It would have looked good with just a distilled water water soak. I've never been impressed that olive oil is so great and I've soaked coins in it for months. It turns the oil green, and that is about it. I read about the mineral oil in "Coin World" and decided to give it a try. It is supposed to conserve the coin's patina better than olive oil.
