I have the rest of the week off and am REALLY trying to find an excuse to head over to the west coast of Florida to hunt. Anyone want to hook up and do some hunting? Thinking DeSoto park, but would be willing to head over to any well used beaches over there. Would prefer to have beaches that are pooch friendly, since my hunting buddy is just as desperate to get out of here!

I live in Naples FL . Today at 12:00 school lets out for the summer ,100,000 kids will be on the beaches parting tommrow the water and beaches will be prime huntting grounds. Maybe we will see you there .Ron Lord ,Naples Fla. West Coast at it's Best.

Stay off of Ft Myers beach. Its picked over very well and usually all you will get is trash, trash and maybe some more trash. The south end of FMB is better. Bonita beach is better.
Enjoy!

hate to break it to you but there are no dog friendly beaches in Pinellas County. Something about folks not cleaning up after their animals.

All the beaches are picked over, hard, but you are welcome to try.

Fort Desoto does have a dog beach. to metal detect you need a permit that you can get at the headquarters building and it is a lifetime permit. I was there last week and found a sterling silver ring. I stayed at the campground where they also allow dogs in one part. It was hot but fun.

Yes, I noticed, I was going to get a camp site, but they were pretty full up. I'll keep that in mind. Been there before, so I am all permitted up, if I can find it.
