All from same creek minus the four at top-right. I have some other non-projectiles that may beat out some current pieces in my A frame, but this is it currently.

Nice frame of artifacts most of them look like they are made out of kanawha black chert! That creek is really producing for you!

I was wondering if it was creek stain or a dark material. Nice frame!

Great look site tray reuellis. You can see it is West Virginia because of all the Kanawha Chert.

Yes, Kanawha Black. All I find. I’m not much of a knapper but heat it is tough stuff to work with. Maybe why I find so many rough pieces.

Where can I look for this chert? I’ve been working in Charleston for months. Also heard about some chert in greenbrier county where I live.

I’m in Putnam county. I look in any creek in the abandoned Teays river valley, seems smaller the better as long it has a year round flow. Tons of KBF, sometimes pieces like this!

Don’t be afraid to share some recent finds I like the black chert. My problem is I keep losing permissions due to new homes being built. I still have a couple of creeks but nothing like I had 10 years ago
