I haven't posted any of my finds in quite a while.....but wanted to share this. I search several creeks. While walking down my main creek Saturday, this was spotted. Couldn't believe it, because I've only found one other point (last 10 years) embedded in the creek bank (although I did find a cache of 82 unfinished points around 50 years ago in the bank of a small feeder creek). This Guilford Point was embedded around 4' down from the surface. How in the world it drifted down to that depth, or how in the world 4' of sediment built up over it since it was made....I have no idea. No one could miss spotting this one. It is 3.5" with no patina change due to weathering.....so it must have become buried soon after it was made...5500-6300 years ago....if you believe the archeologists.
