Reminds me of Pitcairn Islands.

Reminds me of Clearwater, FLA!

:tongue3:

That's late 18th century and the HMS Bounty, but I think you are correct that's the wreck he is referring to. But I don't think the population is anywhere near 200 people these days. It's no fun marrying your sister.

Welcome to TreasureNet...!
Call it "Family Island"....pretty descriptive, eh...?
....maybe "Colony" is the word you're looking for....?

This is what increases the local populations on islands.

The conch Republic !! :laughing7::skullflag::laughing7::skullflag::occasion14:

Gilligans Island....

Seriously...isnt it just a colony...

Colony was what came to mind but eyemustdig beat me to it.

Survivors, then maybe survivors who are all related to each other.

Yep, the Survivors from a wreck, make up the little there is of the island's population - very RURAL living, I'd say! :laughing7:

Noah’s Ark, shipwreck colonists of the earth, we are all related?

"Eleutheran Adventurers - Wikipedia" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eleutheran_Adventurers
The bahamas was founded by by islanders from bermuda. They came with the intention of settling and establishing there own religious freedoms. They wrecked there boat and had to survive in a cave on the coast of eluthera. They went on to establish spanishwells and Harbor Island, and there decendants are still there. The trials and tribulations of there ordeal and the adoption of Island life is detailed here...it is quite interesting.

So was America with the Pilgrims?

"Eleutheran Adventurers" comes to mind thinking of Bahamas history. While some of them did shipwreck, they came on purpose to create a "settlement" or whatever. It could be argued that "providence" could be used for your purpose generically after they renamed Hog Island to New Providence.

I wrote out a LOT of ideas then had a wi-fi glitch that made me lose it all. So here's my shortened list of suggestions any of which could be coupled with "island" as island ___________:

settlement
nation
republic
governance
demesne
suzerainty
sodality
sanctum
sovereignty
ascendancy
tribe
community

if not wholly autonymous:

colony
province
protectorate
