What detector for Relic hunting

When it comes down to it, any detector that has an all metal mode will do. Since if you increase Disc to knock out Iron or foil, your not looking for relics anymore. Large coils are nice for depth where there is less trash and the sniper coils will allow you to get next to metal fences or bushes.

I agree with Sandman. Get one thats easy to use and get out and practice. I would recommend a used Whites MXT.

A used MXT will be in your price range. It is a great turn and go machine. You also may find a used AT PRO around that price as well. But I would recommend the MXT first. I have the MXT PRO and I have found tons of stuff with it. If you want a really deep machine then later you may want to look at the TDI. It will turn those hunted out sites into new sites again. You can pick them up used for around $600. At the last DIV hunt I was digging bullets 18" deep with a nice loud tone.

Try a Fisher F2. It's only about $200, and it's almost as good as the real expensive machines.
