Turtles point the direction.
They were made to be seen from a distance.
Take some pictures of the turtle from a distance and see if there appear to be feet on it.

Check aerials and see if the two objects point in the same direction.

Thanks for the responses, the shell of the turtle that appears to have a turtle carved into it is facing the same direction as the second set of pics (Dog/Serpent)
