I have had the same experience you are having now with previous finds.
What does it mean? Is there a reason I found this?
I commented on the first post that it looked as if it had some age to it. Take it to a Rabbi and see if he can recognize the script. If nothing else he may be able to point you in the direction to have the writting deciphered. Maybe a local historical museum,
You've been around long enough to know where you're headed and the meaning of your own existence. Don't loose any sleep over it.

Personally, I wouldn't.
I'd take it to a jeweler this morning and have him read the inscription.
He carries a 10X loop around his neck and can give you the answer in about 10 seconds.

Ok, I found a hebrew ring and have a friend from Siria who helped me.

You can go to Wikipedia and hit on English. On the left side will be a TON of languages. However you need to go to the bottom where it says complete list.

Now the fun begins, once you find the lanuage that most closely resemples the letter type on the ring you can go and click on that language.

I still have to figure out how to get the alphabet to come up but once I ask him again I will follow up. Good Luck!

Ron, go to a Harbor Freight store, they have a 6 pack of jewelers loupes- 10 power, 8, 6, 5, 4 and 2 power. It costs $6. You can also stack 2 together and really see some detail. Like the black inclusions on a diamond, chips on a diamond, or tiny symbols inside a ring. You can also put a loupe or 2 on your camera lens and take a picture with it up close. I cant really read the pic, but I can make out some words.
