You could definitively nail it down if you could see the stamps as to which country it is from. ALOT of bayonets from that era look really similar.

I agree, German, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Turkey, Austrian/Hungarian, just to name a few. Markings would go a long way in IDing this and also tell if it was an export model sent to South America. Shape alone won't give you a definitive ID on this one.

Time period could be WWII and later.

Congrats Creskol! Is either one of the edges serated?

Looking at the posted pics by the OP, I see no serrations on the bayonet spline, that would rule out a sawback or "Butcher Blade" bayonet.

Some transmission fluid and some 4 ought steel wool should clean the rust up some and allow the OP to see some of the markings.

There are a couple hundred different types it could be, anything from US Springfield to Turkish Mauser and everything in between... if there are any markings at the base of the blade please post a clear pic of them for a positive ID
