What Find Would You Never Sell?

Maybe my 1828 half penny or some of my favorite relics.

Hi !!

I won't sell any of those on a picture, neither my two Russian seals.

Pozdrawiam Matejko
Bayonet and a board , I bought. :) All the rest, are my finds.

if my child was hungry i sell everything, even the new metal detector, would not think twice about it. because i found it once , i can always get lucky and find it again.

I agree, if my family was hungry it would all go. Now if it was just my wife hungry.........just kidding! My wife is the best!!!

Now if you wer just talking about being able to pay some bills, I would start selling stuff off, and I think the detector & guns would be the last to go.

Last to go would be the late 1700's 5 carat ruby ring that I found early in my MD'ing. I would sell everything off to feed the kids and get right back out there every minute that I could to put more "food" on the table.

Interestingly enough, I have yet to sell the first item that I've ever dug.....my entire collection of scrap metal and coins will be handed down to my sons.

Sounds like an outstanding find. Can you post a pic?

I would never get rid of the first silver ring I found that was made from a silver Quarter. I once had a parasite for an old lady that I would have given away.

On my first detecting hunt with a rented detector I was looking for a ring I had lost at a hay ride at a farm. I found three rings, not including mine and some change in the straw pile where all the hay was dumped from other years. One of the rings was appraised at $2500.00 and I thought it was fake. Detector rental was $25.00 and I bought a new one on the spot. Never been sorry but wish I had more time to get out there.

LOL,
Doctor Detroit :-*

the only two that i would not sell i haven't found yet,,,,,,,one, the Confederate Seal,,,two, the sword being sent to Robert E. Lee that went down on the Fannie and Jennie off the N.C. coast...............gldhntr

I wouldn't sell any of my "keeper" finds for any reason except the kids being hungry, but I'm sure that when I'm gone they'll sure as heck sell them, lol!

I've only been doing this for a year, and I'm in it for finding old coins and bottles to add to my collections. As for relics and jewelry, I throw those finds in my "treasure chest", which I hope to have filled to the top with gold and silver someday, unless the wife takes them all, lol!

I would never sell my 5 Dollar Gold Piece ,found at an old site in the Town of Wales,N.Y. that is one of those finds you have to hole on to .Because you never know if you will find another..... Merry Christmas ...SEEKER
