What do you think this is? Found in the same spot as my posted axes, musket balls and knives. This small isolated area seems to be devoid of the usual settler and agricultural debris. I am thinking either a pipe bowl from an axe or a bell.? Grease cup was my first thought but area seems clean of ag related items.

It looks like a bell without a clapper.
Thanks! It very well could be a bell. I have seen some ceremonial trade hatchets with similar shaped bowls but this one is quite small.

It also looks like a pipe fitting called a bell reducer .
Could be. This site is virgin, so I assume older than a pipe fitting. But at the same time, I have found Legos on our property with Woodland points. History can melt on itself!

Oiler cup? Lots of older equipment required constant oiling. There would have been a removable lid of some sort to keep the dirt out. Just a guess.
