????. Looks like it is a fossil. Just need the right person to recognize your portion.
 

Mabey a claw core...from what I'm not sure..what state?
 

North Texas. I'm familiar with most of the common fossils found in this area. The color is not common to what I usually see from our Cretaceous fossils. I've considered maybe a trilobite. More than likely just an igneous secretion.
 

Pretty nice whatever it is.....Maybe send pics to the Houston Museum of Natural Science...They may be able to help with it being a fossil.

Seems like there is too much conformity to the striations for it to be random.
