What is it?

Not sure what this is, any idea? It has a an electrical plug, a wire to connect the prongs to and it has printed on it 110 V. 60 CY. On the center dial its marked F. Geiger Phila. Dial goes from 0 to 8 and made of metal but sits on a piece of marble and enclosed in a wooden box.

It is a Frederick Geiger Cautery Transformer. Used in surgical cauterization. This particular model has been in production since 1913.

Thanks, that's what I said, we got it back in the early 70's. It was at an estate sale of a retired doctor. My husband thought it was a soldering tool. Still works. Cleaning out the garage and forgot it was there. Now I need to figure out what to do with it. Thanks, again.
