I know it's not a turtle shell even though that's exactly what it looks like but what is it? Found on the Minas Basin in Nova Scotia.

Oh...that would be sooooooo cool!!! Mammoths were common in this area and specimens are frequently dug up...

Looks like a cracked nodule of some kind.

Google concretion and you will see many like yours. I like finding them because they come in so many shapes and sizes. I have one some place that looks like Thing from the Fantastic Four. They make great door stops.

Google concretion and you will see many like yours. I like finding them because they come in so many shapes and sizes. I have one some place that looks like Thing from the Fantastic Four. They make great door stops.

Yep...looks like a septarian concretion...cool!
