Okay I know some love the thrill of looking up items that you have bought like me. But I cant find this piece to compare. I have seen some but on the stamp it says reproduction where on this one it doesnt say it. So that leads me to believe it might be a old one? Anyway I hope somebody can give me some info on it I do know its called a Red Paint INAH and is from Mexico. The label that was on it said Aztec if that helps any. Id like to know the age and value and also the proper name of it looks like a Chief to me.
Nothing on the bottom or backside its flat on the bottom and stands 16 inches tall and 10 inches wide at the largest section. Any info would be great to help in my search. Thanks, rock

most likely a 1940 / 1950 era Mexican made tourist trade item --being its marked "aztec" --a Aztec cheiftan type statue --the more modern ones will be marked as "reproductions "to show that folks are not selling looted "historical artworks"..in the older days they were not marked "reproduction" but true antique tomb type items would not have the word "Aztec" since they knew who they were..

Yes I saw that one. The pottery looks newer. I did buy it from a antique store and the word Aztec was on a tag and then the price not the statue itself.

I think the seller marked it Aztec on the price tag not the company who made it. But yeah I would agree 1940-1950 would probably be correct by the clay color. Thanks for dating it for me that is better than the 70s like most examples I have seen so far on ebay
