A Trojan Fish?

You say carving to I guess it's wood. Looks like a mold of some sort but being made of wood limits what can be molded. If it were a stamp for some type of relief you'd think there would be a handle of some sort to pull off. I'm going with Trojan Fish Jello Mold.
No idea... Interesting.

Yes it is made of wood.......along the bottom there is discoloration and wear.....the mouth also is cut like liquid would be poured out

I'm guessing folklore wall plaque. Maybe African or Filipino... ?

It looks to me like the fishermen inside the fish are operating it - some working the gills, some working the tail some working the mouth...
