What is the deepest detecting metal detector for beach and underwater?

the deepest test I've seen on a regular handheld detector is about 18 inches.
those are the 10,000-dollar ones.

The average seems to be about 11 to 12 inches.

there are some large coil ones available that will go deeper but the object has to be huge.

rule of thumb seems to be an inch or two deeper than the coil diameter.

Depends on the detector and coils used. I have dug targets over 18" with excal and WOT coil hunting in reverse discrimination.

Deus II with the 11'x13" coil. Of course, depth is dependent on ground (or sand) conditions and the size of the target.
