prehistoric petroglyphs. probably anywhere from 5,000 to 20,000 years old. An ancient form of communication, not treasure symbols

Native American symbols or could be symbols leading to treasure or could be trail markers warning of dangers ahead a lot of people will have different ideas and some will swear they are what they say and argue with everyone who states they are anything else.Hopefully you get a satisfactory answer that doesn't take your thread on a Jesuit trail to a locked thread.

A bit more info such as its general location would be very helpful in identifying who may have carved it and what it means. From what little I know, ancient spiral cut stones tend to record astronomical events. I'm very intrigued.

I hope that you turned off your gps feature before posting because the info of where you are at can be obtained in your pics. I don't know how to do it but I know others have told how it's done and your spot can be found.Being that is in North America I would venture to say it is Native American pictographs. In my opinion as I am Native American I would hope that you will let someone who is trained in preserving history know of the location so it could be protected for future generations to learn from and it could be studied to learn what tribes have inhabited the area.

I'm not so worried about people tracking your meta data so much as I too hope you will show it to your local archeologist. Sites like that can be very significant and you can be credited with the discovery.

petroglyphs. i find them all over the desert southwest. i am sure people know they are there. what they meant, we may never know. i would contact the local archeologist at the closet university. bet you $20 he or she knows and has been there.

I am reasonably certain that VBulletin (this forum) strips nearly all of the metadata from files during upload.
I don't see any location info in the file's metadata. FYI.

O.k. that is good I just remembered a post where someone told the guy his exact coordinates by looking at his picture info.

Scott Wolter would be someone who I think might even be interested in visiting a site like that.
