What is this strange objects?

Found 2 of these today while out detecting, it is 2 3/4 inches long,2 1/4 inches wide,
it is real thin metal with a hook, I don't have clue what these could be. They are just strange looking. Anybody got any ideals,what these could be?

Looks like it might be part of an old alarm clock.

My first thought was a gasket till we finished digging it up. this is a little better picture of the hook.

It's a piece of of clock. I have found alot of these, you can see the green corrsion through the clay and I would bet that it's brass. I agree with Alabear.
