As we discussed on the Today's Find forum, the round belt buckle looking item may be a lynchpin. See attached images for my before and after cleaning. Get that baby soaking in apple cider vinegar!

Oh, when you take the item OUT of the apple cider vinegar and rub the loose rust off, wear gloves (latex/rubber). Otherwise you'll have lingering black stains under your fingernails!

I think granthansen nailed it. My tractor and implements seem to grow them :tongue3: And of course them seem to pop off on a regular basis.

diggin wv, does the lynch pin round piece rotate so that the pin itself sticks out... like this: O--

Just curious as I noticed the pin isn't welded to the O ring, but I don't want to force it as it may be a tad rusted in place.

It opens to put the pin through a hole, then springs shut. Notice where the ring attaches, it's not even.
