Hello everyone. I'm new here and not much of a treasure hunter but my girlfriend aquired this piece and for the life of me I can't figure out what it is. Anyone want to take a stand at it?

Maybe a jewelers small hammer with measuring markers on handle.

There's something called "plumbers strap" which is basically a metal strap with regularly-spaced holes in it along the long dimension.
That's what I think of when I see your photo, but I'm pretty sure that's not it as your's looks "beefier" than any plumbers strap I've seen.
Plus, plumbers strap is usually a bright silver looking color, and easily bendable.
But the general idea could be the same for your find.
