Found this where a barn was up to the 50s. Newest things I have found are mostly from the 30s. I have also come across 100s of square nails. Curious to what this is. Reminds me of a tap for Maple trees, but it couldn’t work for that. Everything on the inside is hollow. Thanks for the help.

It's a tip for a wooden handle. Either the top of a cane, or possibly a bedpost or possibly a foot for something. My guess would be cane topper.

It’s a horse hame knob. One of the (usually brass) end pieces for the two-piece wood/leather attachment to a horse collar to help distribute the strain for working horses when hauling or ploughing.

Smaller 'imitations' of these were also produced as novelty handles for walking sticks but yours looks to be of a size that it's from a working hame.
