What kind of mineral is this ?

This is the other piece I mentioning eairler, having difficulty identifying. The size is around 8" long by 4 1/2"wide and 6 1/2" in height.Its brownish beige in color besides it has a little bit of weight to it.

Break it open with a hammer.

Could it possibly be quartzite? Would be a better way to view by breaking open but it is questionable that it could be manmade, almost like some type of tool considering the shape of it .

Then ask in the section that deals with stone tools before deciding to break it open or not.

I'd call it a quartzite as it appears to be a quartz mineral but lacks any characteristics to put it in a silicate category, it does not have any tooling marks.
