🔎 UNIDENTIFIED What type of stone/boulder.

Hi members, I have posted this rock/ large bolder in other threads not really about its mineral make up. It's about 6 - 7ft long X 4ft wide X 4-5ft thick I like how the bluish green material looks like its flowing out of the boulder. Any way thank you guys for any info.

If its some kind of Quartz I think I will get a big sledge hammer and wedge and give the cracks a good wack lol.

Hi, I looked up imagines on nepheline syenite but they don't look like the clear bluish green flowing stuff on the boulder in my photo. I did see a small stone in a image mixed with black green blue but it just don't look the same.

optical mineralogy is your friend

A few come to mind.
You'll have to get a sample and test hardness and streak color.

Green chert,
Aquamarine,
Jadeite,
And has been mentioned- Blue quartzite.

Just a guess, but the color patterns look remarkedly similar to some of the serpentine I used to find on the lower Rogue River.

Where is it from? that is always an important bit of info to post as you can then look up the mineralogy of that location to get a clue of what is possibly found there.

That boulder is from the San Bernardino Mountains in the West Fork of the Mojave River. I do know one thing that's found in this area is this Yellow stuff lol. TY Fuss.

My first thought is a weathered chunk of that ocean picurestone that Dan Hurd mines. He mines the hardrock. I wonder if a boulder of that stuff ended up in Southern Ca

I went up today to take some wedges & sledge hammer to it and I could not locate it wth lol. I know its on the bank but I walked up and down river and nada
