What markings tell silver content?

I was just wondering if I was reading the markings on a ring wrong. I believe it says 925, but could it be something else? It is fairly tarnished and maybe it is plated, not sure.

925 = 92.5% silver = Sterling

Thank you. Thought maybe it may have been another meaning like plated or something. I know that the stone must be cz. This was my first silver ring. Mostly finding kiddy type rings.
