What on earth did I find? Ancient lock? Lol

Hey everyone, as the title states, what did I find today? I was metal detecting in Maryland at Calvert Cliffs along the Chesapeake bay. Had a nice signal on the dedtextor, and this is what I found. I can tell you that it’s very heavy and just has an appearance of being potentially old. I’m no good at identifying things so I’ll leave it to people who may know.

Not sure what you have there. Did you find any fossils? I don't think you can go to Calvert Cliffs and not find any!

Sure did! Found a large vertebrae and a handful of sharks teeth but nothing big yet. Still have tomorrow to try!

It absolutely could be. And I sure as hell hope not. Lots of boat traffic in this area. I was hoping for an ancient lock
