Hi everybody! I haven't posted in a while. Started a new job and haven't gotten out much for a while! But I've made time again and actually found a few things! I went to one of my favorite spots on my family's property with my parents, daughter and 4 nieces! We had a great time! Along the creek, where we have found lots of NA artifacts, I found 2 points, my dad found 1 and my niece found one as well! I sadly didn't get a pic of their's. But I found this "lancolate?" Point that is unlike any other I've found in this area before. This is in the mountains of Western North Carolina just beside the Tennessee border on our own PRIVATE property. I have found points with a similar shape, but never a base like this one. How would you describe this point? Is it a small spear point? Its not very big. And the material seems to be the same kind of slick grey stone we find most of the time. As a matter of fact, what type of stone do ya'll think this is? I have been finding this type of stuff for decades, but I don't know much of the technical stuff personally. Ill include a picture of the second point I found and a display case we keep things we have found on the property in. Also a few random points found in the past on our property (that I haven't already posted 😆)Several points in the case actually came from the exact same spot on our property, a pretty small concentrated area honestly. Any info on any of the points would be much appreciated! I hope ya'll enjoy the pics either way!

Nice points. Are those from around Mars Hill ?
Thanks! Actually, no they are not. But they are from the same county. These were found on my parents property, outside of Mars hill.

The piece in the next to last pic may be a Lowe although slightly out of the distribution range.

Edit: On your first piece... I think it is a true arrow point that was launched with a bow and not a spear point due to it's size and shape. If that is correct, it is less than 2000 years old. We can estimate the size shaft to which it was hafted by it's width at the base or "waist" which is about the size of a pencil apparently. It is made of some type of flint/chert, the type which I can not identify, and the base looks to be snapped off going by the way it is broken. It may be a lanceolate but I think it was originally a contracting stemmed point. I hope this helps.

I found a very similar one on my property not far from you in McDowell County NC, mine might be a little larger. I posted a picture in Native American artifacts on this forum some time ago. I was told it was grey flint, not native to my area. Don’t know much else about names, types, etc.
