Check out Nucleo Exchange on bulliondirect.com:

https://www.bulliondirect.com/nucleo/

The bid on rolls of 40% is $39.40 right now. They charge a low 1% commission. You can open an account and sens your 40%ers, and then sell when you think time is right.

HH,
Wally

some Ebay them off, some sell them to dealers, some spend them, some of us melt them to make the others more rare and valuable.

Yesterday I heard that silver was at $14.07. An ounce I guess.
Yes, that is per troy ounce. That is in about the middle of where it has been lately.
8-28-07 it was $11.71 (real low) and 11-8-07 it was $15.47 I dont track everyday but those dates I recorded.

At 14.07 my coin dealer will pay 9.14X face for 90% and 3.42X face for 40%

($1.00 face value 90% silver = $9.14 cash)
($1.00 face value 40% silver = $3.42 cash)

The bulliondirect price of $3.94 for 40% is a bit better but on small amounts the shipping will kill you. But I have over $500 face right now in 40% if I send to them that is an extra $260 Well worth looking into. I had not heard of them before. Thanks Wally

happy hunting, Dan

personally i am just going to hold on to all the silver the come across .
its no emergency or reason i need the money so ill hold till that time ,otherwise ill keep them till my dieing day .
which at that point my 3 kids can split them up and do as they want with them .

Make sure you tell them what I told my wife.
DON'T SPEND THEM >:( they are worth a lot more than 50¢ each. Then I told her where to take them.

I sold about $460/face in 40% about a year ago when silver was at $12.54/oz. Seems like a bad deal now that it's at $16.23 a year later but I don't regret it. I got some insight into the selling process.

Then I started building my 40% stash again (I'm at about $200/face) but I'm not selling any time soon. The way the economy's going silver has no where to go but up, up, up!

I'm saving all mine, waiting for silver to hit $50 an ounce! :) I could kick myself in the butt for selling all of 2006's stash on Ebay last year. By the way the current melt value on 40% halves is $2.40 at todays silver prices.

i swap out for 90% or .999 once i get a couple hundred bucks. i just feel more comfortable with the more recognizable stuff.
