What was this before it was broke??? info please.

I am asking for some info on this find from yesterday. The base looks like it was ground. Is it a knife? what time or culture is it from? Thanks for any help. I know it isn't a great find or anything, but I just like to have a idea of what i am finding. I found this in the same area as my Etley point. Thanks again..... JYD

Looks like it could have been an adze the way I see it. Neat material too.

Big chunk of Jeff City chert, most likely broke during manufacture.

It certainly could have been used as a knife. And maybe it was.

But check out how ragged the edge line is in the side view.
