Over the weekend my dad and I went on a hunt and I'm just finishing the cleaning. We both found a hand chopper, I guess you would call it. I have found a couple in the past. They aren't any thing spectacular, but still artifacts.... I think.

Nice finds! Nice cabin, too!

I appreciate that. My old logs have gotten lots of love from my T-net family.

You may be right Gator. It seems to me like they come to to much of a bit for a hoe. They are also shaped for the hand. (all but one) I'm thinking you are on the right track. Hand spade, maybe?

Seems possible to me. I might want to know more about what the aggriculture in that area produced. Seems they could have been used for breaking down plant material also.

Hey did you get those pics I sent you today?

Not for nothing...but... why don't you personal message him.

Well why don't you post them?

I have a lot of very beautiful pieces. Very beautiful. But of a thousand pieces my favorites are the oldest. The scrapers and the hammers and the hand axes and those hoes and hand tools. They are the coolest things we find I think. And people do not care about them. I have cumberlands that I love and are worth a lot of money. But my favorite piece of all I think is a small knife. It has a flute down the centre on both sides and was done with the exact same nipple-technique as that 2,000 Cumberland. And it is worth $10.

Great finds. They really count in any serious collection. To me they do, anyway. And I collect as well as hunt. I have more pieces that I found than I has bought, but I buy knives and hoes on eBay for ten bucks all the time :)

I agree. The tools are the best finds. They make you think and fill in blanks. Pretty flaked points are great, don't get me wrong. Crude tools are mysterious and often overlooked.

Agree N.C on the tools.
