Dude, you need a new hobby.

Careful...mods are watching! I was already removed from this thread for something VERY light. Still dunno how it "broke" forums rules anymore than ANY of Mr.Loops post. The police thought otherwise I guess.

lol, yea I know what ya mean, always seems as though I pop up on their radar. :dontknow:

"Pro" implies professionnal, obviously, and therefore any detector that you can find a coin with makes you a paid hunter - and so they are ALL pro detectors.

A "pro" wouldn't necessarily care about a lifetime warranty on something that goes obsolete in five years; but excellent customer service with fast turn around IS critical.

IMHO a model that uses "PRO" in the name is like a product that uses "COLLECTABLE" in the description. Good for hooking the uninformed.

I don't fall for the Pro thing as long as I can swing my Xtra Sensitive IIa plus

There is no such thing as a pro detector. A machine cannot be a professional anything. And there are not even any pro detectorists. Only expert tecterists that have the experience to make a Radio Shack look good. No offense intended to the Radio Shack folks mind you.

Although I'm not defending the "Pro" I know you're talking about here, I have to tell you that your favourite brand does the same thing.

My buddy first started with a Whites IDX and used it for a few years. When he came into some money, he bought the IDX PRO.

I laughed at him because all that was different was a bigger coil and a frequency knob at the back. (Which he never used)

I was laughing because all he needed to do was drop a c-note for a 10 inch coil instead of $600 for the exact same machine.

Your brand knows how to market just as good as Charles does.:laughing7:

Cheers,
Dave.

Price? Just ask someone with a grand in thiers.

marketing sound right I thought it was more option take the mxt
then every one commented on what it lacked white's turned a round and made the mxt pro with all the add on's making it a better detectors than the first
that is what i thought a pro detector was all a bout
not what Charles Garrett calls his silent-search at pro
don't see it

I agree, the MXT PRO was an improvement from the first.
One old timer I know had his 6000 die on him and he asked me to look out for another if one came up for sale.
He almost screamed at me "Don't get me a 6000 DI PRO!" He said it wasn't as good as the original.
Unfortunately, he went to the states and bought the top of the line talking Garrett and paid $2,000 back when our dollar was low. He hated that machine and dreamed of the old 6000.
A friend of mine lost his baby two years ago (6000 DI) and also said "Don't get the 6000 DI PRO!"
I don't know what the difference was and why these two didn't like the PRO.
What's the AT PRO an improvement of? The ACE 350? :dontknow:

sound about right
where is the r x gain in the pro mode on the atpro
that's not talked a bought much if any
