What's going on at Arrowheadolgy?

Anybody ever hear from Comanche (Dave White) ? He got off the bus a year or so before the end. Hope he's OK.

I see him on Facebook every now and then. He just bought a nice big truck so he must be doing alright.

Arrowheadology content is not entirely gone. Much of the text and some of the photos are available via the Wayback Machine at Archive.org
https://web.archive.org/web/20120815000000*/www.arrowheadology.com
As an example. Or go to the home page and type www.arrowheadology.com in the wayback machine search bar.
You will see yearly calenders of archived web pages. Some have more content than others. It is kind of hit and miss.
Archive.org has many millions of books movies and music, all of which are free and available without an account.
All of the old county histories, archaeology books and explorers accounts are there. Wonderful site.

Wow there's stuff in there deep.

Lewis is on facebook

I converse with Lewis all the time on Facebook. He is on several artifact pages and still hunts the rivers quite often.

That's cool.Don't do facebook. Thought he might drift over here after it went down.

I was on AO back before it was taken offline. It's good too see names recognize on here. AO had a ton if knowledgeable members but I see the same thing here. I like the variety TN offers...so much to look at! Took me awhile to decide to join here but glad I did.

David Crain, Don Black and many others ...a LOT of Texas knowledge lost. Some great curmudgeons.
I particularly enjoyed their "type" forums. Pics posted (by members) of many, many projectile/ tool types so you could match your finds to real life pics.
too sad

Just to mention a few more notable members whom I'll always remember...
Bobby Allen, Liberty Hill, Texas (paint & body man and personal friend); Tomas Hester, professor emeritus, Dept. of Anthropology, University of Texas at Austin (curmudgeon); Tom Westfall, Colorado archaeologist.

Bobby sent me quite a few nice Texas pieces for my states collection, as did Don Black and Tom Westfall. Tom is on Facebook and I see his posts quite often. He still posts some of the most amazing Paleo artifacts all the time.

I believe Tom Westfall and his wife Myra do artifact reproduction / casting--at least they did at one time.

All the people mentioned here are regular posters on the FB Texas sites, even Doc Hester.
