Whats the best 9V for Tesoros

Re: What's the best 9V for Tesoros

I bought two of the Harbor Freight High Capacity NiMH 9V batteries for $4.99 each when they were on sale. These are the 9.6V batteries instead of the standard 8.4V that you usually see. That means they run at a higher voltage than a standard 9V. I asked Tesoro support about using them in my Vaquero and Silver uMax and they said that it was ok to use them. I took them to Ocean City this past week and they worked great!

As I said before, I also like the standard Harbor Freight 9V alkaline batteries. I buy them 4 for $4.99 when they go on sale. They don't last as long as Energizers or Duracells but for they price they are a better overall value.

Later Edit: I also used the NiMH 9.6V batteries in my Garret ProPointer and they worked really well.

Rechargeable 9v batteries are NOT 9v. They actually put our approx 8.4v so I doubt they will work properly in a 9v detector.

Depends on the battery, but all of my 9V batteries rate at 9.6V

thats testing them with a digital multimeter after charging.

I bought some 325 mAh 9V rechargeable batteries off of ebay, for around $10 each. These batteries have outlasted and outperformed any of the other 9V batteries I have tried. I like them, and they work great in the detector, I wouldn't use anything else ....personally.
