Whats the best Pinpointer? Minelab Pro-Find 25 or Garrett ProPointer? HELP PLEASE

XPointer PI is the deepest pinpointer on the market. Buy it for $89...

It might be "on the market" but the balance of your statement is a bit of a stretch.

I respectfully disagree with that except for the price. When I compared them, my Uniprobe got better depth.

Yes but your Uniprobe cost you $350.00 .. But think the Uniprobe is the best out there..

$315.00 but yeah, it's expensive, but worth it to me as I haven't used a better one. I like keeping the sounds to myself and not broadcasting it to everyone in the area.

Penz, you said (XPointer PI is the deepest pinpointer on the market. Buy it for $89...)

my old pistol probe with the missing door and hard switch is much deeper than the Xpointer. And my TRX will beat both of them. You did manage to get the price right.

Just part of my duties as a paid spokesperson for the Xpointer...;)

Ignas I am new to the forum site but I was interested in your post. So what is the verdict on how you like the Garrett PP?

I have used the Minelab and Garrett, both work great but my choice is the Garrett.HH Ron

Try a tiny piece of good electricians tape over the tiny speaker hole and problem solved...mine is still on after many washings to remove dirt from the rest of the pinpointer.

And if you apply a layer of plumbers goop over that tape and the two push buttons along with a rubber gasket on the screw end you will have a waterproof pinpointer.

I prefer the Garrett Propointer but the new whites seems to be great also.

I have the Garrett propointer, but it fell in the water this summer so I bought the TRX and imo it out preforms the Garrett hands down. Side note after the Garrett dried out (2 weeks) it now works flawlessly again so I have it as a back up still a great pinpointer.

Has anyone tried waterproofing the TRX like you can with the Propionter?

I really don't understand the hype over the Garrett Pro Pointer. I received mine and it didn't even work. Had to return it at my expense in order to receive another. I wonder how long the average pro pointer last? I went back to my Vibra Probe 580. It may not be as sensitive as the Pro Pointer but it only vibrates, it is more durable, no switches, and most importantly WATERPROOF to 100 ft. Actually I used it today in a stream. Can't do that with the Garrett, or you will kiss it goodbye.

Really, I have been diving with mine for over a year with no problems. I take it down to around 20' and it does great! Here is a Video (Poor Quality) you can see that it is clearly able to handle saltwater at depth! And yes, I did find a laptop in 10' at a beach in Japan.

ots, Nice find with the SS...

I'll tell you what I don't recommend and that's a pistol probe. Broke mine in half this past week on a deep signal. Super depth but weak weak weak. It can't take any stress at all. I ordered the minelab profind 25 and hopefully its a bit tougher.

The pro 25 doesn't like hot soil or pressure applied to the tip. I use both a Garret for coins and the 25 for low tone/foil when hunting gold jewelry. Speedy recovery are important to me.

I have both of them. They have both crapped out and been replaced. When they both are
Working they are about the same, the minelab has a few more options, sound on and off,
And sensitivity can be adjusted.. Pin pointers are great but I think for the $$$ you
Spend they good be a Lot better.
