Whats the best Pinpointer? Minelab Pro-Find 25 or Garrett ProPointer? HELP PLEASE

Mmmm funny how some people like it and some don't I have the ML Pro Pointer it works great. I compared it to all of the rest (check out YouTube) bottom line it worked better than all others. I don’t go detecting without it.

No doubt the ML Pro-pointer works - I use it all the time, it's just worth noting to the prospective buyer that there are some drawbacks.

Can't help but suppose that there exists a few great pin-pointers (with fewer issues) out there that are less well known.

Nice go with either one both are good but like one other person said YouTube is a good place to look for examples of each one and how they work. I have Minelab and love it.

Can someone do a video on the Vibraprobe 580 please. There is hardly anything on youtube. Thanks in advance.

I use the Garrett Pro Pointer here at work and its awesome.....Bombguy

I really don't understand the hype over the Garrett Pro Pointer. I received mine and it didn't even work. Had to return it at my expense in order to receive another. I wonder how long the average pro pointer last? I went back to my Vibra Probe 580. It may not be as sensitive as the Pro Pointer but it only vibrates, it is more durable, no switches, and most importantly WATERPROOF to 100 ft. Actually I used it today in a stream. Can't do that with the Garrett, or you will kiss it goodbye.

I beg to differ..the pro pointer is waterproof if you wrap electrical tape around the speaker...that's what the hype is...its a better tool!!

Electrical tape doesn't make a pinpointer waterproof. You're taking your chances. If you submerge it and it leaks, that would probably void the warranty. I put electrical tape on mine also, but still wouldn't submerge it. That would make it rainproof. Have you ever tried the Vibrapobe? Probably not.

Don't forget about the LED on the Garrett, water will get in there too. I've have a couple Garrett's, worked fine, great pinpointers. I use the heck out of a couple vibraprobe's for water hunting certain spots, they work great, not much range, but good enough. Switched from the Garretts to the Minelab for hunting on land last season. The minelab has more detection range, doesn't false as bad from sideways pressure on the probe, more sensitive to tiny stuff but takes a little bit longer to turn on and the battery doesn't last as long as with the Garrett. Either will serve one well.

Try using a Vibra Probe ,waterproof to 100 feet and just as good as the other 2
.

Hmm just read up on the vibra pointer and it sounds like a great pointer ! The water proof appeals to me ,

I have both the Garrett and Minelab pinpointers and prefer the Garrett. It is simply more sensitive.
BUT, I carry both because sometimes I need to use a less sensitive pinpointer in a small hole (I dig lots of public places) to locate my target. And more than once, the Minelab has served as a backup battery source.

I too am intrigued by the Vibra pinpointer. If I did more water hunting, I'd definitely own one. They are getting good reviews on the various boards.

I carry both in my pouch. The target isn't always a big coin in the dirt. The faster the recovery, the more we find. I've found the minelab is more sensitive to Foil and slaw, I'm primarily a jewelry hunter so I dig a lot of low VID #'s. I'm eventually gonna find that 1ct diamond stud earring lol.

What about the TRX and pistol probe?

Thanks for Your opinion guys I've chosen the Garrett's ProPointer. Now I'm anxiously waiting for it to come!

garrett hit a home run with the "pro-pointer!"
it IS the best metal detector garrett makes, unfortunately,
it happens to be a pin pointer!

(h.h.!)
