I'm selling from California. How does the tax thing work? I've seen sellers tell their Cal. buyers to include a 8-1/2% sales tax on items they buy. If I'm the seller and the buyer isn't from Cal. do I need to worry about taxes and when, the end of the year??

Sorry you have had no responses yet. I guess it's touchy and don't know anything about CA. taxes and won't go there. Lack of replies likely correlates with the fear of the tax man and internet sales. Nobody wants to pay taxes on such little operations like many of us have. The powers that be would love to tax us at such a high rate, the time and money spent would not be worth the hassle. With businesses leaving the country for decades now, the govt. should get a clue!

No worries, the IRS will be contacting you shortly, as soon as they read this...

That only works if you work at the IRS...lol

I remember there was a tax protestor case in which the guy said he didn't sign his tax return and instead claimed the fifth amendment. I thought that was a brilliant argument, but I am pretty sure he was sent to prison anyway. Looked it up, the last guy to try it was Irwin Schiff.
