The old format was outdated, full of issues, and falling apart, the new format is much better.

I struggle with the new format as well at times. I have to remind myself that the Forums "homepage" is probably a better starting point for me then the "Home" page. Particularly if I'm trying to get to a sub forum quickly like Fishers metal detectors or something. -

I was also not a fan at first, but the new way makes a few things easier. still hurts my eyeballs but I got ways around that.

adapt to the new version? Not Likely, Im 59 getting ready to turn 60.... I'll only use it when the need arises
I'll be 75 this year and not having any issues!?!

There is an old saying..."Adapt or Die!"

Thats your opinion, whoever designed it should have had an IT specialist work on it
Not an opinion it is a fact. There were a lot of issues, some of which members were not aware of. The software was old.

The new software is also a lot better at helping us stop spammers.

This one remembers some of the spam. Have not seen any obvious spam as of late.
A few may slip through, but not much, we are able to catch most now before members can see.

This one recalls a time when there was obvious spam about every other week or so.

We were getting hit hard there for awhile, over 25+ a day every day, we caught most, but too many still got through.

I am an IT specialist but not an expert on Forum design. I am 42 and I think Forums are pretty much a thing of the past. Most of the other hobbies I have that had forums are pretty much dead these days. Moved on to a combination of Youtube channels, Instagram, TicTok Videos, and in your lucky a Discord (modern forum). However the real problem with this IMO is that over time information gets lost in these modern formats. There is stuff on this forum from 5-10 years ago that I find everyday that is still very valuable. We lost some of that when Whites shut their forum down years of valuable post and information gone in a flash. From now on if I find good technical info I make sure to save it offline. I think as far as metal detecting forums go this is one of the easiest to navigate.

Yes there is some information on this forum that is hard to find on a Youtube and other videos. That is the real value of reading / researching here.
This forum is easy to navigate in general.

I struggle also, I’ve been a member since 2012 and I believe the format had changed 3 or 4 times. Hard to keep up.
They made it owner friendly but not user friendly. Very hard to navigate without an app.
