i just returned from 2 1/2 weeks in fla. so maybe i can input.i dont talk to too many people actually at the beach.im either hiking or detecting.however at the hotel pool i end up chatting as i get tired of just talking to my wifey.she great but no interst in guy stuff incl THing.the people i met were all foreign.england,canada,germany,even spain. i am retired.went to hawaii for a month first.same thing there much less tourist.economy bad but main culprit is high gas prices.also climate change.u may not think, but i can come back to my place in illinois and be fairly comfortable a bit sooner each year.some will still head south but not go as far if they can find warm temps closer.finally yes, mexico.several reasons. foremost being mexican tolerence to spring break antics. todays youth want extreme.its all over the net.they want to rip it up without fear of being arrested. after years of party naked t shirts and wet t shirt contests.they are looking to actually have some nudity. most foreign nations take for granted.usa does not. unless u have mucho bux mexican law is much less strict.enough where they might want to kidnap u.otherwize 40 to a hundred dollar bribe will get most cops to go away.according to my friend.collegians want to drive drunk with impunity,buy and use drugs.if they cant hookup ,a cheap prostitute is avil in mexico no problem.having a few beers and ogling the bikinis is old hat.according to same young friend,todays scene is nudity,drugs,public sex and urinating contests[yes u read it right].all bathed in unlimited booze. not slamming mexico.officially there are laws there ,too.but,they have always been known to do what is good for business. and MEX one of the few places dollar still very good.
