where would someone hide their valuables, money etc in a place like this?

I think you may be right because there is very little iron around the actual house and today when I found the indian it was quite a long way from the house, I am glad you mentioned that, makes me really think! THANKS!

Good eye Wolverine,
Something seemed odd to me as well but I couldn't put my finger on it.
No porch or front step seems strange too.
The house has been there awhile but somehow just looks out of place.

Some of that Iron "trash" might just be treasure to many of us collectors of "junque" I see a great restorable bed headframe and springs by the house and a possibly collectors weather vane or lightning rod on the barn ridge.

well I am not about to climb up on that barn!....lol

Don't forget to look for an old garden area--many a jar of money was stashed by housewives to keep it out of the hands of the old man. Hen houses were also stash points.
Good Luck and hope you keep finding Indians and more.
Minstrel

Just curious I assume this is the front of the house. but what is the arrow pointing to?
If its the front step it doesn't appear to line up with the front door.
Also no root cellar anywhere?

yes that is the rear of the house and that is the pump you circled

also I checked the attic today it was bare, I moed several loose floor boards around, still nothing I could find. Checked both door, no holes in top, and I ran detector over them as well. Could not find any loose bricks in the chimney inside. I detected inside the little brick building besides the hose, it had a dirt/brick foor, nothing in there either.

That pump head is worth maybe a hundred bucks. and that weather vane could be worth even more.
Hard to get to though.
If there is a hand pump in the house its probably worth $200.00 or more.

thing is I got permission to detect the property, not dismantle and sell everything.....lol

Sorry I get carried away. ;D

believe me I am looking at everything there and if I came across something they would consider junk I I considered sellable I'd glady haul it away for them....lol

The lady that gave me permission is 65 and her father is in the 90's he is the owner, I doubt there is anything there he would want, if so why would it still be there?

Cause no body asked?

Also it is surprising about how much money reclaimed wood is bringing nowadays too.
