Where's your dream hunt if time & money were no problem?

This is maybe a post better suited to the winter months when most of us don't detect in the snow and wind chill factor, but it might be interesting seeing where everyone dreams about being able to detect "one of these days". So imagine that you had as much time as you needed and as much money as you needed to enable this dream hunt to happen. Where would you go?

Places I can think of that I'd like to go...
back to Australia, would love to check out New Zealand too.
Alaska for nugget hunting, Europe for really really old stuff around castles, and one of the states (I won't say) to find the cache of FULL whiskey barrels that were burried in sawdust and clay before the feds showed up to raid the place, and any place (on Earth) likely to have meteorites.

Well in no particular order:

Alaska and Australia for gold hunting
Central and South America to hunt for undiscovered pyramids
The middle East & Africa for OLD treasures (but alas no amount of money in the world could make it safe for us over there).
If I was MEGA rich I would pay to get the Oak Island (money pitt) mystery solved once and for all.
Lastly I would love to be a deep sea diver, hunting for long lost wrecks.

But until then I will just hunt out in the CCFP's for my treasure.... :laughing7:

Can't wait to see what others write. :icon_pirat:

Exclusive, unlimited access to every carnie and fest in America that has more than one vomit ride and a dime or qtr toss and/or multiple dozers. Of course I'd take one or two of ya along now and then.... to help carry the loot.

That or beachin' for life. Throw away the shovel and the kneepads.

Wow! Good question!

If time and money were no problem, I don't know if I would hunt as much as I do now - I'd be busy doing other stuff I can't afford to. But when that got old, I know I'd come back to hunting big time again. Honestly, I have no big ambitions. An unlimited supply of unhunted old picnic grounds would keep me happy for a long time, and a trip to across the pond now and then to hunt WWII relics and maybe find an old Roman coin or two.

Re: Where's your dream hunt if time & money were no problem?

If money were no issue, I would buy up really OLD well traveled properties and hunt them ALL TO MYSELF, dig them up like an Archeologist and grade em off and dig them up again, then pay a landscaping company to come in and FIX IT, hahahaha, and hire a Realtor to sell the property.

If money were no issue, I would build crazy but insanely cool robotic metal detecting and digging machines... no, not like that crap you've seen on the internet that waves an ACE 250 coil back and fourth... this baby would be able to take a Minelab machine to the next level and fish out those iffy signals like no other. Not only would there be a detecting bot, there would be a digging, and sod repair bot as well... all networked together. I would have a trailer built for my MD dream team.

If money were no issue, I would design and build a pedal powered amphibious beach and water bike that dredge the dry sand for loot, and allow me to water detect wherever I wanted without making me set foot in the water. This would be AFTER I pay for a beach party that invited the rich and famous, at which drinks were served by staff that would ensure no trash went on the ground... and they would be instructed to NOT pick up any lost money or jewelery.

If money were no issue, I would invite all of my MD buddies out to go detecting with me every other day, to virgin grounds near and far. We would each get a personal caddy to carry all of our extra gear, drinks, snacks and camera equipment. We would also have a few police officers on pay roll that would keep watch and make sure no one was eyeing our detecting gear funny. Each hunt would be seeded with a special Gold Token that would allow the finder to go on a shopping spree at their choice of coin shop.

Dream BIG!

If you've never been to Rome, Italy, just imagine this: Modern buildings are built "around" the ruins. Some ruins are even incorporated into sides of modern buildings. Amazing. But there are acres inside Rome that are ruins areas. Foundations and pillars still stand, or are laying on the ground after falling.

That's where I want to explore.

I thought MD'ing anywhere in Italy isn't allowed. :icon_scratch:

But if it was, man o man that would be a great place.

ENGLAND is one of my goals that I want to reach before age 35!
