All of these were dug, most from newer dumps TOC-1930's and 40's but saved for the color, is white a color? I think they look good on a shelf mixed in with other colors.

milk glass.webp

i have two of those there my favorite

The opaque ones across the front and the one at left on the second row are considered milk glass. The others look like fiery opalescent, but you'd have to hold them up to the light to confirm that, if you see a freaky orangish look. Nice finds that I can't seem to leave them behind either.

mine are both from the 1950's but i don't care i love though

I like some of them in the foreground. Intriguing shapes. According to my art teacher in high school, white is not a color, but the absence of color.

Close. white is all colors, black is absence of colors. So if you wanna get technical the white object reflects all colors of light, the black object absorbs all colors, red object reflects red light, and so on.

There is something to that. If you spin a color wheel, it turns white.

I’ve dug 40 to 50 small white jars just this summer. A couple exactly like yours. Can’t seem to leave them behind, not sure why they intrigue me.
