Why is it that some people just never say Hello.

Have you ever crossed path with another MDer?? Sure you have. We all have, some wheres.

Its kind of peeve to me.

If another MDer is passing you by, would it you kill to say "hello".
I hate it when: You give a wave or say hi, and you get no acknowledgement or that look (OH, not another person to take away my treasure). We're all enjoying the same hobby.

I was in a park recently and was discovered by the Village Idiot. All small towns have one. They're usually harmless but about a brick shy of a load. Anyway he is following me around in this park, he and I the only ones within a mile and he is asking such stupid questions it's driving me crazy. Things like can I find a worm with that detector? What's the biggest thing I ever found, can I talk to anyone through that box, does it get hot when it buzzes, would a dead bird mess it up, can I find things up in the air, you know, really intelligent questions, and on and on and on..........I tried ignoring him, but he kept getting in front of me....can you hear me with those head phones on, oh yeah, what did I just say?!!!! So, I put my arm around his shoulders and began whispering and peering around like I didn't want anyone else to hear.....I'm not supposed to tell you this but I am working for the Drug Enforcement Agency and there is a case full of hundred dollar bills hidden in this park somwehere. It may be in one of those trash cans over there ( about 12 of them) and there's a million dollar reward! Ssssshhhhhhh, don't let anyone else know. When I left about an hour later he was on trash can #4, taking all the trash and garbage out , sifting through it and carefully placing it back into the barrell! Next time I ran into him he wouldn't even look at me and went huffing on by on his bicycle. My wife said it was cruel, but gosh darn, what can you do? Monty

Yes but so entertaining,I would have had to sit and watch him after I was done detecting.Start questioning him,did you find it yet? How many have you searched? Did you look in the trees? What about the squirrels? You think they hid it?

I never run across other detectorists,except at the beach.
As for conversation with other detectorists,I never talk unless i'm approached.Most of the time i'm focused on the ground in front of me.Of course I don't crowd in on anyone either,that's only common courtesy.That's like when were in the boat fishing and there's a whole ocean to fish.As soon as someone sees you fighting something,they all hone in on ya like roaches.I don't know how many trolling lures i've lost in another mans prop,because he's too stupid to keep a safe distance while trolling.I hope they enjoy the 300-400 yards of line I give 'em with it,idiots.Don't crowd my space.I bite!
