I went to Cripple Creek, Colo yesterday. These pictures are both sides of Wilkerson pass on the east end of South Park. Pikes Pike is in the 2nd picture and I took it it with the cellphone. There's a lot of haze between me and that mountain, so it's not a clear crisp picture of it. Thats the place I'm heading to though. In the other picture looking over South park you think about all the tribal battles and summer hunting parties that took place each summer over the thousands of years out there. It's getting cooler up in this region, which I like, as that means things will now begin to slow down some. Prehistoric peoples were the first to cross Wilkerson Pass into South Park, followed by Euro-American trappers, miners and settlers. Along with 10,000 years of human history, panoramic views of three mountain ranges and the area's natural history are also interpreted along this short nature trail.
