002 (10).JPG Maybe bronze,or copper? Found in goldrush town,late1850s. Thought maybe something to do with horses?

Looks like half of a sash buckle , whats the back look like?
I agree with all the others. After seeing the size and the backside, its no doubt half of a butterfly buckle. Its about as solved as its gonna get.
