Hey all, got a new site (still building & updating) with a lot of treasure hunting tid-bits and info on it. Make your own snokel board, finds tube, finds strainer, etc. Explore the Beale treasure mystery and other topics. Just trying to beat the winter blues and cabin fever so if you're in the same boat you can check it out at: http://www.adventurequestusa.com

Hey Treasurejack, nice site..I'm doing kind of the same thing, actually I'm writing a book on my experiences MDing for people just starting out..I want to get people involved with this because it's one of the most enjoyable pasttimes I've had in my life. Can't wait till the weather breaks so I could go out again..I searched a private yard a few days ago before a front came through, found 7 wheats, some other change and a small brass bell made in India. By the time I got home the temp dropped to 30 with a stiff wind, so there was a wind chill. You can never tell what the weather's going to be like around here, it's usually too cold and snowy but we're having some days in the 40's lately.

Hold on to that filled die cent..the odds of finding one are slim at best..you'd think they'd be worth a fortune, go figure! Looking forward to reading some more of your material.

I'd love to learn how to build an electrolysis thing. It has to be written for electronics dummies..... The exact name of pieces and where to get them (hardware store, auto parts store).
Also tips of basic cleaning right out of the field.

Very cool idea!
